Seen here with celebratory Alberta brew
IT PASSED
After wrenching on it all weekend and making it look more like a car, the second garage I took it to passed it for an out of province inspection. They said the car was good, and the only problem they could see was that my rear brake hose was kinda old, but not leaking.
The jump seat
So it’s done! It’s insured, registered, and has legal plates. Time to take it on an epic drive. Where to, Oppo?

Now that all the Canadians tourists have left, come to Montana and buy a bunch of cheap wine.

Check out that padded horn!
Congrats on the passing grade. Drive it ... Wherever you damn well please :)
So, what’s the story on the areas that have been taken down to bare metal?

Denver is actually not too bad a drive from where I am in the great white North!

Haha maybe I’ll just take it all the way to Toronto so it can be with it’s soul mate, the Cletus-Vette!

Haha the padded horn is custom! Thanks man. The areas that have been taken down to bare metal are all the places I had to do rust repair. I’m debating just buying clear paint and leaving it like that, the body is still quite dented up all the way around so a paint job is out of the question for some time.

well that whole home of country music thing is definitely going for us. It’s booming here! Regularly top 10 in places to be/growing cities for the past few years. Hell come to Nashville. Car scene is decent

...and awesome beer. I love when I get to drive up there for work since none of your breweries distribute anywhere else.

Absolutely. If you can make it down to Kelowna, we can go up June Springs road. Absolutely awesome narrow, winding canyon road.

As cool as it looks like that, clear pain alone won’t protect it from rust. Best bet is to do a rattle can primer and paint job on the bare areas (NOT just primer, that will also let it rust)

So we have these strange laws... about “micro” breweries and how much they can sell and where they distribute. I guess it just means more good beer for me.

Even tasting is restricted in the breweries, right? What was it, 3 pints total per day or something odd?

Yes, 48 oz per person per day. Most of the beer you can also get in a normal bar or grocery store in a bottle or can in unlimited quantities.

Z Car Club track day hereat High Plains Raceway, 25 September. Roadsters count as Z’s in our book, and all makes/marks are welcome, anyway. Maybe that’s a bit more of a drive than you were looking for. :) In any case, congratulations! Nice work!

You’d certainly be welcome! Just about the cheapest track time you’ll find. This year it’s $155 for the day, 2.5 mile road course, usually 40 cars in 4 run groups at first, consolidating throughout the day. I hear the price will go up next year, and the insurance company is upping the roll-over protection requirements on the convertibles. It’ll probably still be a hell of a deal. Anyway, enjoy your new drive!
